OUR COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY
At Figueroa Law, our work doesn’t start and end with a case. We believe that real impact means showing up for our community long before and long after someone needs legal help.
A big part of that commitment is making sure people understand their rights. Too often, individuals, especially within Spanish-speaking communities, are left without clear information simply because of language barriers or lack of access. We are committed to changing that.
We are a bilingual firm, but more importantly, we make sure every person we help actually understands what’s happening in their case. And when additional support is needed, we take the extra step to find it. No one should feel lost or unheard when dealing with something as important as their health, their case, or their future.
SUPPORTING EDUCATION & OPPORTUNITY
We support organizations like the GROW Initiative in Georgia, which creates real opportunities for families through low-cost English and Spanish classes, language education for medical providers, and community programs that provide food and school supplies.
Programs like these do more than provide resources. They help people navigate everyday life with confidence and access.
EXPANDING ACCESS TO JUSTICE
We also support organizations like Charleston Legal Access and Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, both of which focus on making legal help accessible to those who might not otherwise have it. Access to legal guidance should not depend on someone’s financial situation, and these organizations play an important role in closing that gap in our community.
PROVIDING RECOURCES TO THE COMMUNITY
We believe that access to information should be simple and direct. Through our involvement with La Guía Latina, we support the distribution of a resource that reaches members of the community where they are, in a language they understand.
By helping fund and contribute to this guide, we are able to provide useful information, resources, and guidance to individuals and families who may not otherwise know where to turn.
SHOWING UP IN OUR COMMUNITY
Our involvement is not just behind the scenes. We show up.
We have supported and participated in local field day events where families can come together, children can play, and communities can connect in a positive and welcoming environment.
Furthermore we contribute to back-to-school efforts to help students start the year with the supplies they need. You will also find us at Latin American festivals and community events throughout the area. These are opportunities to celebrate culture, connect with people, and be present in the communities we serve every day. In addition to these efforts, we continue to support and contribute to other local organizations and initiatives as opportunities arise, because our commitment to this community is ongoing.
MORE THAN A LAW FIRM
At the end of the day, we are part of this community too. Our clients are our neighbors, our families, and our friends. That is why we approach our work with a responsibility that goes beyond legal representation.
